    Which formats?

    JPG, PNG, and WebP cover most sharing and web use. BMP is an older format some tools still expect. AVIF is smaller, and this browser saves it only when it can encode AVIF.

    HEIC photos belong on the HEIC page, because this page uses the browser’s own image decoder.

    Are the images uploaded?

    No. Each image is decoded and saved in this browser. We never receive the file.

    Why would I choose PNG or WebP?

    PNG keeps a lossless image and transparency. WebP is usually smaller than JPG at the same quality setting. JPG is the safest choice for older software.

    Does it keep transparency?

    PNG and WebP can keep transparency. JPG and BMP cannot, so transparent areas become white.
