Video to MP4

Turn common video files into an MP4 you can share. Conversion runs on this device and the video is never uploaded.

    How it works

    1. Drop

Add a video from your phone or computer.

    2. Convert

The converter downloads the first time, then saves an H.264 MP4 with AAC audio when the file has sound.

    3. Save

Download each MP4 when it is ready. Large videos take longer because they stay on this device.

    Which videos?

MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, MPEG, WMV, FLV, 3GP, and M4V are the usual inputs. The result is an MP4 that plays in current browsers, phones, and players.

The converter is FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. It is a large download, so the first conversion waits for that file. Later videos reuse the copy your browser stored. Very unusual codecs can still fail.

    Questions

    Is the video uploaded?

No. The file is read on this device, converted here, and the MP4 is saved back to this device.

Why is the first video slow?

FFmpeg has to download before the first conversion. After that, only the video itself is processed. A long or large file still takes time, because the work happens on this device.

    What are the limits?

Up to 5 videos, 150 MB each. The browser must have enough memory for the file. If a conversion fails, try a shorter clip or a smaller size setting.
